What people are saying about
La Troupe du Jour

Includes excerpts from the article "40 ans d’histoire de la Troupe du Jour" - Radio-Canada, 2025.
It was the first time I attended a play here and I loved it! I particularly enjoyed the sound design. (Cet été qui chantait, 2026)
Audience Member
We decided to start our own theatre. A theatre that reflects the Fransaskois voice, that reflects our reality.
Alphonse Gaudet, actor
A very beautiful text and a powerful sociological reflection, with a thread of humour. (Cantate pour légumes, 2026)
Anne Brochu
La Troupe du Jour has always been a meeting place [...] for the Fransaskois community [...], but also for theater lovers in Saskatoon.
Gilles Poulin-Denis, actor
If it hadn't been for LaTroupe being ready to stage my plays, I probably would have written in English. It's as simple as that.
Madeleine Blais-Dahlem, playwright
The next generation is there. There are young people who are inspired and who have opportunities to try out theatre at school or elsewhere.
Bruce McKay, actor
Excellent!!! It highlights everything we have all experienced at some point in our lives, whether it's our language, our accent, our way of speaking, etc. It's easy to identify with the context regardless of our origin! Bravo! (Parler Mal, 2025)
Audience Member
Very funny, these old vegetables that end up in Compostela. Dark humor at its best. A pan-Canadian tour soon? (Cantate pour légumes, 2026)
Paul Toutant
It was Denis Rouleau who had this desire to develop a Francophone dramaturgy here in Saskatchewan, working with authors like Raoul Granger, Madeleine Blais-Dahlem, myself, and others to bring their texts to production.
Laurier Gareau, playwright
